The Clamm Gallas Palace (Clamm-Gallasuv palac)

Clam-Gallas Palace – down to the cellar space With its 99 rooms and halls the Clam-Gallas palace should always be on the list of “not-to-be-missed” sights. The exhibitions, besides many other events, are held in the first floor and in its mysterious sub-basement, which is dedicated to photography shows.

The walls of the palace contain, in brief, the history of Prague architecture. There are ancient Romanesque houses entangled in the cellar’s structure, the basement is a Gothic one while Renaissance takes over the rest.

The Clam-Gallas palace was also closely connected to one of W.A. Mozart’s stays in Prague and to round off the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth a major exhibition called Prague of Mozart’s time is going to open here in November 2006.
